Washburn Institute of Technology, often referred to as Washburn Tech, is a public institute of higher education located in Topeka, Kansas, United States. It is part of the Washburn University system. Washburn Tech is one of the largest technical colleges in Kansas, offering more than 40 technical programs leading to associate degrees, certificates or diplomas. The Institute also houses Washburn University's School of Applied Studies which offers bachelor's and master's degrees in technology-related fields.

Washburn Tech was founded in 1903 as the Municipal University of Kansas City. The school was created to provide technical and vocational education to the residents of Kansas City, Missouri. In 1923, the school's name was changed to the Kansas City Vocational School and in 1925, the school moved to its current location in Topeka, Kansas. The school underwent another name change in 1965, becoming the Kansas Vocational Technical School before finally settling on its current name in 1987.

Washburn Tech offers a wide variety of technical and vocational programs, ranging from automotive technology and cosmetology to welding and HVAC. The Institute also offers a number of non-technical programs, such as business and computer science. In addition to its credit programs, Washburn Tech also offers a number of non-credit, continuing education courses for those who wish to update their skills or learn new ones.

Washburn Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Institute is also accredited by a number of professional organizations, including the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and the Council on Occupational Education.

Washburn Tech is committed to providing its students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today's workforce. The Institute offers a number of services to its students, including career counseling, job placement assistance, and academic advising. Washburn Tech also has an active alumni association that provides support and networking opportunities for its members.
