Southwest Technical College (SWTEC) is a public two-year technical college located in Cedar City, Utah. The college offers associate degrees and certificates in a variety of technical and career fields.

SWTEC was established in 1967 as a part of the Utah State University system. The college initially served as a branch campus of Utah State University, offering evening and weekend classes to residents of Cedar City and the surrounding area. In the early 1970s, SWTEC became a separate institution within the Utah State University system and began offering daytime classes as well.

In the late 1980s, the college underwent a major expansion, adding a number of new buildings and programs. Today, SWTEC offers over 50 different programs of study, including business, computer science, engineering, health care, and welding. The college also offers a variety of continuing education and workforce development programs.

SWTEC is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The college is also a member of the Utah System of Technical Colleges.

Enrollment at SWTEC has grown steadily in recent years, reaching over 1,700 students in fall 2016. The college serves a primarily non-traditional student body, with over 60% of students being age 25 or older. SWTEC is committed to serving the needs of its students and the community, and provides a number of services and resources to help students succeed.
