The South Texas Training Center (STTC) is a 1,637-acre state prison for men located in San Benito, Texas, in the United States. The facility, which is operated by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), opened in May 2001. It is adjacent to the Port of Brownsville and the Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport.

STTC houses inmates who are serving sentences for a variety of offenses, including murder, aggravated assault, robbery, and sex crimes. The facility also houses inmates who have been sentenced to death. As of October 2020, there were 2,240 inmates housed at STTC.

The prison offers a variety of educational and vocational programs, including adult basic education, GED preparation, and ESL classes. Inmates can also earn certifications in welding, HVAC, and other trades. STTC also offers religious and chaplaincy services.

STTC is located in Cameron County, which has one of the highest rates of poverty in the country. The area around the prison is predominantly Hispanic.
