The International Air and Hospitality Academy (IAHA) in Vancouver, Washington is a private, for-profit institution that specializes in training students for careers in the aviation and hospitality industries. Founded in 1992, IAHA is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The academy offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in both Aviation Management and Hospitality Management, as well as a certificate program in Aviation Maintenance Technology. IAHA also has an articulation agreement in place with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which allows students to transfer credits earned at IAHA towards a Bachelor's degree at Embry-Riddle.
IAHA's aviation program is designed to prepare students for careers as pilots, flight instructors, or aviation managers. The program includes coursework in aviation safety, aviation weather, aircraft systems, and flight operations. Students in the program also have the opportunity to complete an internship with a commercial airline. IAHA's hospitality program is designed to prepare students for careers in hotel management, event planning, or restaurant management. The program includes coursework in hospitality law, customer service, and hospitality marketing. Students in the program also have the opportunity to complete an internship with a hotel or resort.
IAHA's campus is located on the grounds of the Vancouver International Airport, and the academy has access to a fleet of aircraft for training purposes. IAHA is authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to offer training for the Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, and Instrument Rating certificates. The academy is also a member of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) and the National Association of Flight Schools (NAFS).
