The Institute of Technology in Salem Oregon is a public university that was founded in 1842. The university is located in the state capital of Salem, in the Willamette Valley region of the state. The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of fields, including engineering, business, computer science, and more. The university is home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute, the Center for Advanced Materials Research, and the Center for Entrepreneurship. The university is also home to a number of athletic teams, including the Salem State Vikings, who compete in the NCAA Division III.
