It was founded in 1959 by Dr. John Kappas, who is considered the father of modern clinical hypnosis. HMI offers a variety of hypnosis training programs, from a basic introduction to hypnosis to more advanced courses for those who want to become certified hypnotherapists. HMI also offers online courses and distance learning options for those who can’t attend the institute in person.

Over the years, HMI has trained thousands of people from all over the world in the art of hypnosis. The institute’s graduates include doctors, dentists, therapists, counselors, teachers, and even lawyers and judges. HMI’s programs are designed to teach students how to use hypnosis to help themselves and others overcome a variety of issues, including weight loss, smoking cessation, stress management, and pain control. The institute also offers courses on how to use hypnosis for self-improvement and personal growth.

HMI is accredited by the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists (NATH) and the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (ACHE). The institute’s faculty includes some of the world’s leading experts on hypnosis, including Dr. Kappas himself.
