The Herkimer County BOCES-Practical Nursing Program in Ilion, New York is a unique and innovative program that offers students the opportunity to earn their Practical Nursing degree in a hands-on, real-world setting. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful Practical Nurse, and to prepare them for the rigors of the nursing profession. The program is accredited by the New York State Board of Nursing, and is approved by the New York State Department of Education. The program is offered in both English and Spanish, and is open to all qualified applicants. The program is divided into two parts: the academic portion, which is completed at a local college, and the clinical portion, which is completed at a hospital or other healthcare facility. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the New York State Board of Nursing licensure examination.
