Massachusetts Community Colleges


Massachusetts’ community colleges are a vital part of the state’s educational system, providing access to education for individuals of all backgrounds. The 15 community colleges located throughout the state offer two-year degree and certificate programs, as well as career and technical education, adult basic education, and workforce training programs. These colleges provide an affordable and accessible opportunity for students to pursue their educational goals, prepare for transfer to a four-year institution, or gain the skills and knowledge needed to enter the workforce.

The community college system offers a wide range of degree and certificate programs, including associate degrees in liberal arts and sciences, business, engineering, health sciences, and more. Students may also pursue shorter-term certificates in various fields, such as automotive technology, culinary arts, and computer information systems. Career and technical education programs provide specialized training in fields like automotive technology, welding, and cosmetology. Additionally, adult basic education courses are available to help students improve their academic skills.

The Massachusetts Community College System also offers a variety of services to help students succeed. These include academic advising, career counseling, and financial aid services. Additionally, the system provides opportunities for students to participate in internships, research projects, and service learning experiences.
