Founded in 1915, Webster University is a private, non-profit university with its main campus in Webster Groves, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Webster University was founded by the Sisters of Loretto as Loretto College, a women's college. It was renamed Webster College in 1917 after the addition of men's programs, and became Webster University in 1996.
