Idaho Universities and Colleges
Idaho is home to a variety of colleges and universities, offering a wide range of educational opportunities to its residents. The University of Idaho is the largest and oldest university in the state, founded in 1889. It is located in Moscow and is classified as a research university. It offers more than 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and is known for its strong engineering and agricultural programs. Idaho State University is located in Pocatello and is the state’s second largest university. It offers more than 280 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and is known for its programs in nursing, physical therapy, and health sciences. Boise State University is located in the state capital and is the third largest university in the state. It offers more than 190 degree programs and is known for its business, engineering, and computer science programs. Other four-year universities in Idaho include Northwest Nazarene University, College of Idaho, Lewis-Clark State College, and Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Idaho also has a number of two-year colleges, including North Idaho College, College of Southern Idaho, Eastern Idaho Technical College, and College of Western Idaho. These colleges offer associate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields. In addition, there are several community colleges located throughout the state that offer certificate and associate degree programs.
