Valparaiso University is a private university in Valparaiso, Indiana, United States. Founded in 1859 as Valparaiso Male and Female College, it is the oldest institution of higher learning in the city of Valparaiso and Porter County. The university is a member of the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities. It has a student body of about 4,500 students, representing all 50 states and more than 30 countries. The university offers more than 70 undergraduate majors, adult undergraduate programs, and graduate programs in business, education, nursing, and law.
