The University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) is a public health science center in Fort Worth, Texas. UNTHSC is part of the University of North Texas System and offers degrees in osteopathic medicine, public health, and biomedical sciences. The health science center is home to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM), the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS), the School of Public Health (SPH), and the UNT Health Careers Center.
TCOM is the largest medical school in North Texas and one of the largest osteopathic medical schools in the United States. TCOM trains osteopathic physicians (DOs) and offers a four-year Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree program. The school also offers dual degree programs in partnership with other UNT System schools, including the UNT College of Pharmacy and the UNT School of Law.
GSBS offers graduate degrees in biomedical sciences, including PhD, MS, and DNP programs. The school’s PhD programs prepare students for careers in biomedical research, while the MS and DNP programs prepare students for careers in clinical practice.
SPH offers degrees in public health, including the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) programs. The school’s MPH program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
The UNT Health Careers Center offers programs and services to help students prepare for careers in health care. The center’s programs include the Health Careers Academy, the Health Careers Scholars program, and the Health Careers Success program. The center also offers career counseling, job search assistance, and resume and cover letter review.
