The University of Texas at Tyler is a public university in Tyler, Texas. It is one of the campuses of the University of Texas System. The university offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

The university was founded in 1971 as Tyler State College. It became a part of the University of Texas System in 1975. In 1979, the university's name was changed to The University of Texas at Tyler.

The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also a member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.

The university's campus is located on 283 acres (1.15 km2) of land in Tyler. The campus includes academic buildings, residence halls, a library, a student center, a stadium, and other athletic facilities.

The university's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division II and are known as the Patriots. The university's colors are orange and white.

The University of Texas at Tyler enrolls more than 10,000 students. The university's faculty includes more than 400 full-time and part-time instructors.
