Texas Lutheran University (TLU) is a private university in Seguin, Texas. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest university in Guadalupe County, and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of fields, and has an enrollment of about 1,500 students.

TLU was founded by a group of German-speaking Lutherans from Seguin and the surrounding area. The university's first president was Rev. Ferdinand Peter Lange, a German immigrant who had previously served as a pastor in New Braunfels and San Antonio. The school originally operated out of a small frame building on Court Street in Seguin, and had an initial enrollment of just over 100 students.

In its early years, TLU was a college for men only, but began admitting women in 1913. The university expanded its curriculum over the years, adding programs in business, education, and the sciences. It also began offering graduate degrees in the 1950s.

TLU has a strong tradition of service to the community, and its students have been active in a variety of civic and social organizations over the years. The university is also home to a number of student-run organizations, including a campus radio station and newspaper.

TLU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also a member of the Texas Association of Private and Community Colleges and the Association of Texas Colleges and Universities.
