Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is a small, private, Catholic college in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. The college was founded in 1840 by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, a French nun. It is the oldest Catholic college for women in the United States. The college's mission is to provide a quality education for women in the liberal arts tradition. SMWC offers bachelor's degrees in over 30 majors, as well as master's degrees in business, education, and nursing. The college is known for its strong sense of community and its beautiful campus, which is home to a variety of wildlife.
