Admission Requirements
Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) is a Catholic institution of higher education located in San Antonio, Texas. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. OLLU is also a member of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU).
The university was founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Divine Providence as Our Lady of the Lake College. The college was originally located on St. Mary’s Street in downtown San Antonio. In 1923, the college moved to its current location on the city’s southwest side. The college became a university in 1949 and was renamed Our Lady of the Lake University.
OLLU offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through its five schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Leadership, the School of Education, the School of Nursing and Allied Health, and the School of Social Work.
Undergraduate programs are available in a variety of majors, including business, education, nursing, social work, and liberal arts. Graduate programs are available in business, education, nursing, social work, and counseling.
Admission to OLLU is open to all qualified students. The university does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its admissions policies.
To be considered for admission, applicants must submit an application, transcripts, and test scores. Admission requirements vary by program. For most programs, applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Some programs may require additional admission requirements, such as an interview, portfolio, or essay.
Once admitted, students are required to complete a new student orientation program. Orientation is designed to help students transition to university life and familiarize them with the campus and resources.
