Oblate School of Theology is a Catholic seminary in San Antonio, Texas. It is one of the largest Catholic seminaries in the United States, with an enrollment of over 400 men from more than 30 states and 20 countries. The Oblate faculty is made up of more than 80 full-time and part-time professors, and the student body is represented by 30 different religious orders. The school offers programs leading to the degrees of Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Theology, and Doctor of Ministry.
The Oblate Fathers, a religious order founded in 1816, established the seminary in 1934. The school was originally located in Washington, D.C., but moved to its current location in San Antonio in 1957. The Oblates have always been committed to social justice, and the seminary has a long history of producing priests who have gone on to work in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the country. The school has a strong focus on the spiritual formation of its students, and its graduates go on to serve in a wide variety of ministry roles.
