Messenger College is a small, private, non-profit college located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The college was founded in 1887 by the Rev. Dr. John G. Messenger, a Methodist minister, and his wife, Mrs. Sarah E. Messenger, as a school for young women. The college was originally located on Spring Street, but moved to its current location on Figueroa Street in 1909. The college is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The college offers associate's and bachelor's degrees in a variety of liberal arts disciplines, as well as a master's degree in business administration. The college has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students, most of whom are women.

The college's campus is located in the historic Broadway Theater District of downtown Los Angeles. The college is situated near many of the city's cultural attractions, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
