Founded in 1914, Johnson & Wales University is a private, nonprofit, accredited institution with four campuses located in Providence, Rhode Island; North Miami, Florida; Denver, Colorado; and Charlotte, North Carolina. The university specializes in business, culinary arts, hospitality, technology, and design education, offering more than 130 associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees as well as doctoral programs.
Johnson & Wales University was founded by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales as a business school for women in Providence, Rhode Island. The school began with just six students and has grown to become one of the largest private universities in the United States, with an enrollment of over 15,000 students. The university has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1941 and is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Rhode Island.
The university’s Denver campus was established in 1955 and is located in the LoDo neighborhood. The campus offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in business, culinary arts, hospitality, and technology. The campus is home to the Wildcat Center, a state-of-the-art fitness and recreation facility, and the Johnson & Wales University Arena, which hosts sporting events, concerts, and other events.
The Johnson & Wales University Denver campus is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
