Admission Requirements
Indiana University Bloomington is a public research university in Bloomington, Indiana. Founded in 1820, IU Bloomington is the flagship institution of the Indiana University system and its largest university. Indiana University is a "comprehensive doctoral university", classified by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as having "high research activity". It has a diverse student body, with an enrollment of 42,855 undergraduate and 12,337 graduate students from all 50 U.S. states and 129 countries.
The university is organized into 17 schools and colleges at its flagship campus in Bloomington, and offers more than 550 undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs. The Indiana Hoosiers compete in NCAA Division I in 24 varsity sports and are members of the Big Ten Conference. Indiana University Bloomington has a strong Greek system and is home to the majority of fraternities and sororities in Indiana.
Undergraduate students at Indiana University Bloomington must meet the following requirements for admission:
1. A completed application for admission, including an essay
2. Official high school transcripts
3. Official SAT or ACT scores
4. A non-refundable application fee of $60
5. Optional: Additional materials such as letters of recommendation, a resume, or a portfolio
Graduate students must meet the following requirements for admission:
1. A completed application for admission, including an essay
2. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
3. Official GRE, GMAT, or MAT scores
4. A non-refundable application fee of $75
5. Optional: Additional materials such as letters of recommendation, a resume, or a portfolio
6. For some programs, an interview may also be required
International students must meet the following additional requirements for admission:
1. A completed application for admission, including an essay
2. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
3. Official TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores
4. A non-refundable application fee of $75
5. Optional: Additional materials such as letters of recommendation, a resume, or a portfolio
6. For some programs, an interview may also be required
7. Proof of financial support
8. A copy of your passport
