Founded in 1902, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary is a graduate institution that trains men and women for the ministry. The seminary offers Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, and Doctor of Ministry degrees, as well as a number of certificate programs. The mission of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary is to educate and form faithful leaders for the church of Jesus Christ. The seminary seeks to accomplish this mission through rigorous academic study, spiritual formation, and practical experience.

The Master of Divinity program is a three-year course of study that prepares students for ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church (USA). The seminary also offers a number of resources for those seeking to deepen their faith, including a library with over 100,000 volumes and a bookstore with a wide selection of books on theology and ministry.
Practical experience is an important part of the seminary experience. All students are required to complete an internship, and many students also participate in international mission trips. The seminary also offers a number of clinical programs, such as the Counseling Center and the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary Clinic, which provide students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in ministry.
