Young Harris College is a four-year private college located in the mountains of northeast Georgia. The college has an enrollment of about 1,000 students and offers bachelor's degrees in art, business, education, music, and science. The college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Young Harris College was founded in 1886 as a women's college by Reverend Eugene Young and Colonel Harris. The college's first class graduated in 1887. In 1926, the college began admitting men and became co-educational. In the 1930s, the college began offering graduate degrees. Today, the college is known for its strong academic programs, beautiful campus, and friendly student body.
