Xavier University is a private research university in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was founded in 1831 as a Catholic institution and is the oldest university in Ohio. The school is named after the Jesuit priest Saint Francis Xavier. Xavier University is the sixth-oldest Jesuit university in the United States and one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines, including the arts and sciences, business, education, health sciences, law, and nursing. Xavier University has an enrollment of about 4,800 students, most of whom are undergraduates. Xavier University was founded in 1831 by Saint Francis Xavier, a Jesuit priest from Spain.
