The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is a four-year public university located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States. UW-La Crosse is part of the University of Wisconsin System and offers bachelor's and master's degrees in over 120 areas of study. The university is organized into five colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business Administration, the College of Education and Health Sciences, the College of Nursing, and the College of Science and Technology.

UW-La Crosse was founded in 1909 as a normal school, a type of teacher-training institution, and began offering bachelor's degrees in 1960. The university has an enrollment of over 11,000 students, of whom over 9,000 are undergraduates. UW-La Crosse is ranked among the top 100 public universities in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report and is also recognized as one of the "Public Ivy" schools, a designation given to public universities that provide an Ivy League collegiate experience at a public university price.

The university is located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in the city of La Crosse. The campus is situated on over 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land and is adjacent to both the La Crosse River State Trail and the La Crosse Marsh Wildlife Area. The university's academic buildings are clustered around a central mall, and the residence halls are located on the perimeter of the campus.

UW-La Crosse is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and sponsors 20 NCAA Division III varsity sports. The university is also home to the Eagle Center, a multi-purpose arena that is home to the university's basketball and volleyball teams. The university's athletic teams are known as the Eagles.

UW-La Crosse is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university's College of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The university's nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
