The University of Puerto Rico at Utuado (UPRU) is a public university located in the municipality of Utuado, Puerto Rico. It is part of the University of Puerto Rico system. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees in various academic disciplines.

UPRU was founded in 1949 as the Colegio de Agricultura y Artes Mecánicas de Utuado (CAAMU). CAAMU was created by Act No. 62 of the Puerto Rico Legislature, which was signed into law by Governor Luis Muñoz Marín. The college was originally established as a two-year institution. In 1951, the college's name was changed to the Colegio de Agricultura de Utuado (CAU).

In 1957, the Puerto Rico Legislature enacted Act No. 462, which converted CAU into a four-year institution and renamed it the Universidad de Puerto Rico en Utuado (UPRU). The first bachelor's degrees were awarded in 1960. In 1962, UPRU was accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

In 1975, UPRU was accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In 1976, UPRU was accredited by the Puerto Rico State Council on Higher Education.

UPRU offers bachelor's degrees in agronomy, animal science, business administration, education, engineering, liberal arts, natural sciences, and social sciences. The university also offers master's degrees in agronomy, business administration, education, engineering, and natural sciences.

UPRU has a student population of approximately 3,000. The university's campus covers an area of 100 acres (40 hectares). The campus is located in the central mountainous region of Puerto Rico, at an elevation of 1,600 feet (488 meters) above sea level.
