The University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine (UPRSM) is a public medical school located in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Founded in 1903, it is the oldest medical school in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The school is part of the University of Puerto Rico system and is accredited by the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). The UPRSM offers a four-year medical degree program leading to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The school also offers residency and fellowship programs in various medical specialties.

The University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine was founded in 1903 as the Escuela de Medicina de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico School of Medicine). The school was originally located in the city of Ponce, but it was soon moved to the capital city of San Juan. In 1910, the school was renamed as the Escuela de Medicina y Cirugia de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico School of Medicine and Surgery). In 1913, the school became part of the newly established University of Puerto Rico system. In1961, the school was renamed as the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.

The UPRSM offers a four-year medical degree program leading to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The first two years of the program are devoted to basic sciences, while the last two years are devoted to clinical sciences. The school also offers residency and fellowship programs in various medical specialties.

The UPRSM has a long tradition of excellence in medical education and research. The school has produced many notable alumni, who have made significant contributions to the field of medicine.
