The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, also known as UNCP or UNC Pembroke, is a public university in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is a member institution of the University of North Carolina system and one of 17 schools that constitute the UNC system. The university is located in the town of Pembroke in Robeson County, in the southeastern region of the state. It is the second-largest university in the UNC system by enrollment, with a student body of over 6,000 students.

UNCP was founded in 1887 as a Normal School, a type of institution that trained high school graduates to become teachers. It was the first public Normal School in North Carolina and the only one for nearly 30 years. The school underwent a number of name changes and expansions over the years, becoming a four-year college in 1939 and a state university in 1969. The university has grown rapidly in recent years, with a number of new academic programs and facilities being added.

UNCP is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's and master's degrees. The university offers over 50 undergraduate majors and 30 graduate programs. Its most popular majors include Education, Business, Nursing, and Biology. The university is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Center for Robotic and Intelligent Systems, the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina Research Center, and the Southeast Center for Agriculture and the Environment.

UNCP is a member of the NCAA Division II and competes in the Peach Belt Conference. The university's athletic teams are known as the Braves and Lady Braves. The men's basketball team has won two national championships, in 1974 and 1992. The women's softball team has also won two national championships, in 1989 and 2006.
