The University of North Carolina Wilmington, also known as UNC Wilmington, is a public research university located in Wilmington, North Carolina, United States. UNC Wilmington is a member institution of the University of North Carolina system. Founded in 1947, UNC Wilmington is one of three schools in the system that were created after World War II. It is also the largest university in southeastern North Carolina, with an enrollment of over 16,000 students as of fall 2019. The school offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a doctorate in marine biology.

UNC Wilmington's main campus is located on a 330-acre (130 ha) tract of land along the banks of the Cape Fear River. The campus is just minutes from downtown Wilmington and the Atlantic Ocean. The university's location provides opportunities for students to participate in a variety of activities, including boating, fishing, and surfing. The school also has a number of research facilities, including the Center for Marine Science, which is one of the largest marine science centers in the country.

UNC Wilmington is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The school is also a member of the NCAA Division I and competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. The university's athletics teams are known as the Seahawks.
