The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is a public university in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1807, it is the oldest dental school in the United States, and the first public university in Maryland. UMB is one of the four campuses of the University System of Maryland. It is also a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU). The university's schools and colleges include the School of Dentistry, the School of Law, the School of Medicine, the Graduate School, the School of Nursing, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Social Work, and the School of Public Health.

UMB has a total enrollment of about 6,000 students, and its campus covers about 50 acres (20 ha) in downtown Baltimore. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. UMB is a research-intensive university, with more than $180 million in research funding annually. It is home to the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute and the University of Maryland Medical Center.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
