Southwestern Christian University (SCU) is a private, coeducational, liberal arts university located in Bethany, Oklahoma, United States. The university is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. SCU was founded in 1946 as Southwest Bible Institute by A.W. Tozer, E.J. Palmer, and W.T. Williams. The school became Southwestern College in 1950, and Southwestern Christian University in 1999. The university offers bachelor's degrees in over 40 areas of study, as well as master's degrees in business administration, counseling, and ministry. SCU has an enrollment of over 1,200 students, representing more than 30 states and 30 countries. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
