South Florida State College (SFSC) is a public state college in the U.S. state of Florida. It is part of the Florida College System and one of the institutions in the State University System of Florida. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. SFSC offers bachelor's and associate's degrees, professional certificates, and workforce training programs.

SFSC was established in 1947 as South Florida Junior College, a two-year institution serving the communities of DeSoto, Hardee, and Highlands counties. In 1957, the college moved to its current location on a 300-acre (1.2 km2) campus in Avon Park, Florida. In 1963, the name was changed to South Florida Community College. In 2009, the college was renamed South Florida State College to reflect its status as a four-year institution.

SFSC is the only college in the Florida College System to offer a bachelor's degree in nursing. The college also offers a bachelor's degree in elementary education, as well as associate's degrees in a variety of fields including business, criminal justice, and nursing. In addition, SFSC provides workforce training programs and adult education courses.

SFSC is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of Florida. The college is led by a president, who is appointed by the Board of Trustees. The president is assisted by an executive vice president, vice presidents, and deans.

The college has an annual budget of $130 million. SFSC is funded by the State of Florida, student tuition and fees, and private donations.

SFSC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The college's nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing.

SFSC is a member of the Florida Association of Community Colleges, the American Association of Community Colleges, and the Association of Florida Colleges.

The college's Avon Park campus is located in the city of Avon Park, Florida. The campus is situated on 300 acres (1.2 km2) of land. The campus includes several academic buildings, a library, a gymnasium, a theater, and a student union. SFSC also has a campus in DeSoto County, Florida, which offers workforce training programs.

SFSC offers a variety of student services including academic advising, tutoring, career counseling, and health services. The college also has a bookstore, a food court, and a child care center.

SFSC is home to the Museum of Florida Art and Culture, which features exhibits on the history and culture of Florida. The college also offers a variety of clubs and organizations, including the Student Government Association, the Student Nurses Association, and the Student Veterans Association.
