Sinclair Community College is a public community college in Dayton, Ohio. Sinclair offers associate and bachelor's degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields, including business, engineering, health sciences, information technology, and the liberal arts. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Sinclair was founded in 1887 as a private, two-year business college. The school was named after its founder, John Sinclair, who was also its first president. The college was originally located on the top floor of a downtown Dayton office building. It moved to its current location on the city's south side in the early 1960s.
Sinclair has grown significantly since its founding, and now enrolls more than 23,000 students. The college offers more than 190 degree and certificate programs, and its faculty includes more than 1,200 full- and part-time instructors. Sinclair is Dayton's largest community college and one of the largest employers in the city.
The college has a strong commitment to serving the community, and provides a variety of services to businesses and individuals. Sinclair also has an active alumni association, with more than 50,000 members.
