Rochester University, located in Rochester, New York, is a private research university with six colleges. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as professional degrees in business, medicine, and law. Founded in 1850, Rochester is one of the nation's leading private research universities. The university is home to more than 2,600 faculty members and nearly 30,000 students, who come from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Rochester is a member of the Association of American Universities and is ranked among the top 30 private research universities in the United States. The university is also a member of the prestigious Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada. Rochester is one of only two private research universities in New York State that is a member of both organizations. Rochester's six colleges are: the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering; the School of Medicine and Dentistry; the School of Nursing; the Warner School of Education; the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; and the School of Business.
