Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC) is a two-year, accredited technical college located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PTC offers over 50 degree and certificate programs in the areas of Business and Information Technology, Health Sciences, and Skilled Trades. PTC is committed to providing quality, affordable education and training that prepares students for success in the workforce.
PTC was founded in 1946 as the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, a training school for World War II veterans. The school evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the Pittsburgh community and the workforce. In the early 1970s, PTC became one of the first technical colleges in the nation to offer cooperative education, which allows students to earn academic credit while working in paid positions related to their field of study.
PTC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges. PTC is also approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
PTC offers a variety of financial aid options to help students pay for college, including grants, loans, and scholarships. PTC also participates in the Federal Work-Study program, which provides students with the opportunity to earn money to help pay for their education.
PTC has two campuses in Pittsburgh: the main campus in the city’s North Side, and the South Campus in Castle Shannon. PTC also has a number of off-campus locations, including the West Hills Center in Canonsburg and the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course in Cranberry Township.
PTC is home to a number of student organizations, including the Student Government Association, the Student Nurses Association, and the Student Veterans Association. PTC also offers a variety of clubs and activities, such as the Aviation Club, the Robotics Club, and the Ski and Snowboard Club.
PTC is dedicated to providing its students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce. PTC’s Career Services department offers a variety of resources to help students find jobs, including resume writing assistance, job search workshops, and on-campus job fairs. PTC also offers cooperative education and internships, which provide students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience in their field of study.

PTC has articulation agreements with a number of four-year institutions, which guarantee that PTC graduates will receive credit for their coursework.
