Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Beaver is a public university in Monaca, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Pennsylvania State University System, and offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The campus is situated on a 940-acre (380-hectare) site along the Ohio River.
The university traces its roots back to 1863, when the Pennsylvania General Assembly established the Agricultural College of Pennsylvania. The school was renamed the Pennsylvania State University in 1953, and the Penn State Beaver campus was established in 1963.
The Penn State Beaver campus offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as continuing education opportunities. The campus is home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Center for Rural Development, the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research, and the Center for Intelligent Transportation Systems.
The Penn State Beaver campus is also home to a number of athletic facilities, including a football stadium, a basketball arena, and a golf course. The campus is home to a number of student organizations, including the Beaver campus chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association.
Penn State Beaver is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The campus is also home to a number of fraternities and sororities.
