Founded in 1805, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is the oldest art school and museum in the United States. Located in Philadelphia, PAFA is a private, non-profit institution that offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, as well as post-Baccalaureate and Master of Fine Arts degrees. The Academy's museum is internationally known for its collection of American art, which includes works by Benjamin West, Thomas Eakins, Mary Cassatt, and Andrew Wyeth. PAFA also offers a variety of art classes and workshops for all levels of experience, from beginner to professional.
