Founded in 1984, Midwest College of Oriental Medicine-Racine is a nationally accredited institution of higher learning specializing in the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The college is located in Racine, Wisconsin, USA.
The college offers a four-year Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) degree program, as well as a three-year Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM) degree program. The MSOM program includes coursework in TCM theory, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tuina (Chinese medical massage), dietetics, and Western biomedical sciences. The DOM program builds on the MSOM program with additional coursework in TCM diagnosis, pharmacology, and research methods.
The college also offers a one-year certificate program in Chinese Herbal Medicine, as well as a two-year certificate program in Acupuncture.
Graduates of the college's programs are eligible to sit for the national board exams administered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Upon passing these exams, practitioners can earn the credential of Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) or Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl.OM).
The college's clinical training program, which is an integral part of both the MSOM and DOM degree programs, provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the college's on-campus clinic, as well as externship rotations at various off-campus clinical sites.
