Miami University is a public research university in Oxford, Ohio. The university was founded in 1809, making it the second-oldest university in Ohio and the 10th oldest public university in the United States. Miami University is the flagship campus of the Miami University system, which has over 30,000 students enrolled in campuses across Ohio. The university is classified as a research university with "high research activity" by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
The university offers over 140 undergraduate majors and more than 60 graduate programs. Miami University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
