Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Guayama (IAUPRG) is a four-year, private, co-educational, land-grant university located in Guayama, Puerto Rico. Founded in 1912 as a normal school, IAUPRG is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is the second oldest of the 11 campuses of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico system.
IAUPRG offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, liberal arts, and natural sciences. The university also offers a Doctor of Education degree. IAUPRG has a student-to-faculty ratio of 18:1 and an average class size of 25 students.
IAUPRG is home to the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Engineering, and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The university also houses the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, the Center for Research and Development, and the Guayama Campus Library.
The Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Guayama Athletic Department sponsors men's and women's teams in basketball, cross country, volleyball, and track and field. The university is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Puerto Rico Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (PRIAC).
IAUPRG has a strong commitment to service-learning and offers a variety of community-based learning opportunities for students. The university also offers a study abroad program, which provides students with the opportunity to study in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Spain.
