Drew University is a private university in Madison, New Jersey. The university is named for its founder, the Reverend James Drew. Drew University was founded in 1867 as a coeducational institution "to prepare young people for lives of service to the community and the world."

Drew University enrolls approximately 2,000 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The university offers more than 40 majors and programs, as well as a number of pre-professional and special programs.

Drew University's campus is located on a wooded, 186-acre (75-hectare) site in Madison. The campus includes more than 50 buildings, including residence halls, academic buildings, administrative offices, and athletic facilities.

Drew University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The university is a member of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and the Association of American Colleges and Universities.
