Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine is a nationally accredited institution offering a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM). The college is located in the historic district of downtown Gainesville, Florida.

The college offers a four-year program that includes didactic coursework, clinical training, and research. The curriculum is based on the traditional Chinese medical model and includes courses in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, medical qigong, and tui na.

Admission Requirements

Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine (DRCOM) is a nationally accredited institution offering a four-year Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and a three-year Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM) program. DRCOM is one of only a handful of schools in the United States offering a four-year MSOM degree, which is the minimum educational requirement to sit for the national licensure examination.

DRCOM's MSOM and DOM programs are designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the theory and practice of Oriental medicine. The curriculum includes coursework in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, medical qigong, diet and nutrition, and Oriental medicine theory and diagnostics. In addition to didactic coursework, students also participate in clinical rotations, which provide them with hands-on experience treating patients.

DRCOM is committed to providing its students with the highest quality of education possible. To that end, the admissions requirements for both the MSOM and DOM programs are designed to ensure that only those students who are truly dedicated to the study of Oriental medicine are accepted into the program.

The minimum requirements for admission into the MSOM program are:

* A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

* A minimum GPA of 3.0

* Completion of the DRCOM Application for Admission

* Submission of official transcripts

* Submission of two letters of recommendation

* A personal essay

* A non-refundable application fee

The minimum requirements for admission into the DOM program are:

* A master's degree in Oriental medicine from an accredited institution

* A minimum GPA of 3.0

* Completion of the DRCOM Application for Admission

* Submission of official transcripts

* Submission of two letters of recommendation

* A personal essay

* A non-refundable application fee

In addition to the above requirements, all applicants to both the MSOM and DOM programs must also complete a criminal background check and drug screen prior to matriculation.
