Brewton-Parker College is a small, private, Christian liberal arts college located in Mount Vernon, Georgia. The school was founded in 1904 by the Baptist Convention of Georgia as Mount Vernon Baptist Normal and Industrial School. In 1937, the name was changed to Brewton-Parker College in honor of two former presidents of the Baptist Convention of Georgia, Robert E. Park and J. B. Brewton. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and offers bachelor's degrees in over 30 areas of study. The school's athletics teams compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and are known as the Barons.
