Founded in 1963, Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Greater Allegheny is located in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, about 20 miles from Pittsburgh. The campus is situated on a bluff overlooking the Monongahela River and offers a view of the city of Pittsburgh. With an enrollment of over 1,200 students, Greater Allegheny is the smallest of Penn State's 24 campuses.
