Oregon State University (OSU) is a public research university in the northwest United States, located in Corvallis, Oregon. The university offers more than 200 undergraduate degree programs along with a variety of graduate and doctoral degrees.

Founded in 1868 as the state's land-grant university, OSU is one of the largest universities in the Pacific Northwest, with a student body of over 30,000. The university's operating budget for fiscal year 2015 was $2.013 billion, with an endowment of $1.014 billion.

The university's research expenditures totaled $308.7 million in 2015, ranking it 95th in the nation. OSU is a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), an organization of 62 leading research universities in the United States and Canada. It is also a sea-grant, space-grant, and sun-grant institution.

The university's athletic teams, the Beavers, compete in the NCAA Division I Pacific-12 Conference. OSU's football team has been to the Fiesta Bowl three times (1965, 2000, and 2016), while its men's basketball team has made one Final Four appearance (1949).
