Ohio Northern University (ONU) is a private university in Ada, Ohio. It was founded in 1871 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in a number of different fields, including business, engineering, law, and pharmacy.

ONU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university is also a member of the Ohio Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.

The university's campus is located on a scenic, wooded, 1,200-acre (4.9 km2) site in Ada, Ohio. The campus features a number of historic buildings, including the Kinghorn Hall of Administration, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The university enrolls a little over 3,000 students from more than 30 states and more than 20 countries. The student-to-faculty ratio is 14-to-1, and the average class size is 20.

Ohio Northern University is ranked #174 in Regional Universities Midwest by U.S. News & World Report for 2020. The university's Pharmacy program is ranked #69 in the nation, and its Law program is ranked #108.

The university's sports teams are known as the Polar Bears and compete in the NCAA Division III Ohio Athletic Conference. The university offers a variety of intramural and club sports, and students can also participate in a number of outdoor activities through the school's Outdoor Recreation program.
