Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh is a private Orthodox Jewish day school located in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The school is co-ed and offers classes from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school's mission is to provide a quality Jewish and secular education to its students in an environment that is nurturing, challenging, and stimulating.
Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh was founded in 2001 by Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz and his wife, Mrs. Lebowitz. The school is named after Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz's father, Rabbi Zichron Aryeh Lebowitz, who was a renowned Talmudic scholar and the head of the yeshiva in Crown Heights.
Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz is the current dean of Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh. He is a graduate of Yeshiva University and holds a master's degree in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Rabbi Lebowitz has been teaching in Jewish day schools for over 25 years.
Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The school is also a member of the RAVSAK (The Coalition of Jewish Day Schools) and the New York Board of Rabbis.
The school's curriculum is based on the Torah and the Talmud, and the students are taught to integrate Jewish values into their daily lives. The curriculum includes Judaic studies, Hebrew language, Jewish history, and Jewish law. In addition, the students take classes in English, mathematics, science, and social studies.
The school day begins with tefilah (prayer) and continues with classes until lunch. After lunch, there is a period of time for recreation, and then the students return to their classes. The school day ends with mincha (afternoon prayers) and ma'ariv (evening prayers).
