Founded in 1899, Western Illinois University is a public university located in Macomb, Illinois, United States. The University is composed of two campuses: the main campus in Macomb and the smaller WIU-Quad Cities campus in Moline, Illinois. Western Illinois University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The University offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a number of doctoral programs.

WIU is home to the Horrabin Hall, the largest classroom building in the state of Illinois. The University Union, the Student Recreation Center, and the University Bookstore are also located on the Macomb campus.

The WIU-Quad Cities campus is located on the banks of the Mississippi River in downtown Moline. The campus offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a number of doctoral programs.
