Wellesley College is a private women's liberal arts college located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States. Founded in 1870 by Henry and Pauline Durant, it is a member of the original Seven Sisters Colleges. Wellesley is home to 56 departmental and interdepartmental majors spanning the liberal arts, as well as over 150 student clubs and organizations. The college is also known for allowing its students to cross-register at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Brandeis, and Babson. Wellesley athletes compete in the NCAA Division III New England Small College Athletic Conference.

In the 2017 edition of U.S. News & World Report's college rankings, Wellesley ranked 3rd among the nation's liberal arts colleges and 37th among all colleges and universities. Wellesley is currently the highest ranked liberal arts college for women in the United States. Forbes in 2016 ranked Wellesley 26th among all U.S. colleges and universities, and 1st in its America's Top Colleges list for liberal arts colleges. The college has produced many distinguished alumni, including Madeleine Albright, the first female United States Secretary of State, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the first female candidate for President of the United States from a major political party.
