The University of the Pacific (UOP) is a private university in the western United States, located in Stockton, California. It is one of the oldest universities in California, founded in 1851 as the first chartered institution of higher education in the state. The university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
UOP has three schools: the School of International Studies, the Conservatory of Music, and the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. It also has a Graduate School. The university offers bachelor's degrees in over 50 majors, master's degrees in over 25 fields, and doctoral degrees in 7 areas of study.
UOP is known for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. The university has a large number of international students, and its student body is representative of many different cultures and backgrounds. UOP is also home to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Institute for Social Justice, which promotes equality and civil rights through education and research.
