Founded in 1895, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth or UMassD) is an public research university in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. It is one of five campuses of the University of Massachusetts system.

The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in business, engineering, liberal arts, nursing, and marine sciences. The main campus is situated on 710 acres (2.9 km2) of land in North Dartmouth, with a satellite campus - the StarStore - in downtown New Bedford.

UMass Dartmouth is ranked #193 in National Universities by U.S. News & World Report in their 2021 rankings. The online graduate engineering program is ranked #33 and the part-time MBA program is ranked #60. The university is also ranked #75 in Top Public Schools.

The university enrolls over 8,000 students, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1. The average class size is 21 students. The campus is home to a variety of research centers, including the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Center for Marketing Research, and the Marine Science and Technology Center.

The athletic teams at UMass Dartmouth are known as the Corsairs and compete in the NCAA Division III. The university is a member of the Little East Conference. The Corsairs have won numerous conference championships and have made several appearances in NCAA Division III tournaments.
